China Invests in Electrification of Vehicles in Beijing, Shenzhen, Chongqing, and Chengdu

China’s government has launched investment in pilot projects in 15 cities including Beijing, Shenzhen, Chongqing, and Chengdu to achieve comprehensive electrification of public vehicles in key areas.

The move is hugely bullish for battery metals and EV makers as the government shows how seriously it is taking the green transportation agenda.

The scheme will see over 600,000 new electric vehicles in China’s government.

Investment is being made to construct over 700,000 charging stations and establish more than 7,800 battery-swapping stations, state media said.
